Product Description

StemGro® ESS6 Medium is a chemically defined, animal component-free medium primarily designed for the spontaneous or directed differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) and for the reprogramming of somatic cells into human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). StemGro® ESS6 Medium contains only the essential components required for stem cell culture and does not contain bFGF or TGFβ. Its streamlined formulation helps reduce batch-to-batch variation while providing users with the flexibility to adjust TGFβ and bFGF levels and to add other components to match a given application. ESS6 Medium is primarily used for the differentiation of PSCs and the reprogramming of somatic cells. For the maintenance of pluripotency and expansion of PSCs, please use Yuanpei's StemGro® ESS8 Medium or StemGro® TeSR Medium.
Main Applications of StemGro® ESS6 Medium:
Differentiation of PSCs
ESS6 Medium does not contain bFGF or TGFβ and can support the formation of embryoid bodies. It can also serve as a base medium for the directed differentiation of various cell types along the endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm lineages.
Reprogramming of Somatic Cells
When supplemented with bFGF, ESS6 Medium can be used for defined, feeder-free reprogramming of somatic cells. ESS6 is compatible with a variety of somatic cell reprogramming methods, including episomal vectors and Sendai virus.
